West Mexico, Protoclassic, ca. 100 B.C. - A.D. 250

Well proportioned nude seated male figure gesturing with hands up to head and skillfully rendered, especially the details to his fingers. Overall smooth burnished surface and decorated in rich red and tan slip pigment.  Scattered mineral deposits and root marks on the surface. Size:  8-1/2 inches H. A  nice specimen with a well defined head.

Provenance  From the estate of  Drs. Saul Tuttman & Gregory Siskind who collected in the 1970s; T-151 incribed in ink on  underside.
