Struck at Constantinople Mint, ca. A.D. 603–610.
Obverse: D N FOCAS PERP AVG, draped and cuirassed bust of Phocas facing, bearded, wearing crown with pendilia and holding globus cruciger. Reverse: VICTORIA AVGG Z / CONOB, angel standing facing, holding a long staff surmounted by a chi‑rho/staurogram in the right hand and globus cruciger in the left. Struck slightly off‑center on the obverse but with sharp central devices and a broad, lustrous flan that shows intense original mint bloom. A very attractive example of this classic Phocas solidus type, cf. Sear 616, Constantinople mint, officina Z.
