Burma (Myanmar), Shan/Mon States, 19th to early 20th Century Konbaung Period / British Colonial Era

Primarily avian figures featuring the sacred Hintha / Hamsa (Brahminy goose/duck) on stepped and rounded bases, along with a stylized To-Naya / Chinthe (mythical horned lion/leopard beast) on a stepped plinth.  Standardized Units (Kyat / Tical): Commonly referred to in the West as "opium weights," these zoomorphic bronzes were standardized graduated  trade and marketplace weights used for weighing bulk silver bullion, gems, raw metals, medicines, and valuable trade goods across Southeast Asia.
Hintha (Hamsa): The sacred aquatic bird associated with purity, elegance, and the founding mythology of the Mon and Burmese kingdoms.  To-Naya / Chinthe: A mythical celestial lion/dragon beast symbolizing strength, royal authority, and protection.
