probably Tlamimilopa-Metepec, Ca. 200 to 750 AD.

A noble green stone standing figure holding his arms at his side and with broadly defined large head with symmetrical facial features with triangular nose and ear spools. He also wears a tight incised headdress, loincloth and broad collar.

Stone figures such as this were found near temples and complexes associated with the ‘Street of the Dead’. None have been found in domestic or funerary settings and they were not made as trade items to be exported out of the city proper. Rather their function served a purely ceremonial purpose.

At its height Teotihuacan was the largest city in the Americas, a major trade center and pilgrimage site that was known for its military prowess and large pyramids dedicated to the sun and moon. It’s name translates to ‘City of the Gods’
