Late Qing Dynasty to Republic Period (late 19th to early 20th century), each measuring 18 inches high. Each vase is potted with an ovoid body rising to a waisted neck and flared, molded rim, flanked by paired emerald-green Buddhist lion handles at the neck and applied molded chilong clambering across the shoulders. The exterior is enameled in vibrant overglaze polychrome with the auspicious motif of Qilin Songzi (“The Qilin Delivering a Son”), centered on an aristocratic woman and child mounted atop a striding mythical qilin (kylin). The procession is surrounded by joyful attendant boys bearing processional banners, fans, and ceremonial parasols beneath blooming trees, with the neck depicting additional scholar and figure tableaux. The compositions are framed against a bright white ground accented with scattered floral sprigs, embodying traditional wishes for fertility, high official rank, and familial prosperity. Size 18 in H. ea.
