Central Highlands, Middle Preclassic, ca. 1200 to 800 B.C

Hand-modeled terracotta head from a larger standing female figure, the elongated face with narrow slit eyes beneath arched brows, a straight nose and pursed lips, the coiffure arranged in a tall, tiered bun encircled by a thick fillet. Dark brown surface with areas of lighter encrustation and mineral deposits; breaks and reassembly visible at the neck and lower face, nose gone. 
Size 2-3/8 inches Height + custom mount.   
Ex: Private collection, Mercer Island, Washington, by descent from Ruth Goldwyn Capps and Henry McClure “Mac” Capps, art director and production designer for television and film, acquired mid‑20th century.

Overseas shipments are usually sent by courier but contact us if you have a shipping preference. International customers are responsible for all duties and taxes.
